Hi Family,
This is the 2nd entry in the "blog". Blog is short for web-log, i.e. a web-based journal. Our blog makes up the written portion of our family photo website. It is here where we can announce the new additions to our photo collection.
If you are reading this entry in email, it is merely to inform you of the latest blog-entry. In the future, the emails you receive will only contain an excerpt of the entry, reminding you to check the website for the latest entries and new photos.
To see the full journal with all its entries go here. If you are already on the website, you are already here, because this is the website! WOW!
And now, ladies and gentlemen, we continue on to less nerdy information and to the real deal.. Our Photos! Woo Hoo!

To see Barbara's photos, click here.
If you have any questions, please ask me in email or better yet, post your comments here on the blog.
** When you get to the photo galleries, click on the thumbnails to see the web version of the image, and then, if you want to print or save the original full resolution image, click on the image again, and you will begin downloading the full-sized image. (This image will look very large on your screen, and also take a few minutes to download). This is the image you want to print, not the screen sized image. The big image is print quality.
More photo galleries on the way!
Today, with the help of Samira, Ann, & Jaime (all via MSN instant messenger), I sucessfully installed Movable Type!
This software will allow the members of this site to contribute and manage written content -- introducing to the family their latest additions to the photo galleries.
Everything you see on this front page so far has been created by Movable Type. Now begins a never ending editing process to make its look our own.
The sites functionality will continue to grow... this is just the tip of the iceberg. Combined with the Gallery software that is already installed, we will be able to create dozens of different family websites and manage them all via one interface.
This is only days away now.
:-)
Thanks again to Sam (geek1), Ann (geek2), and Jaime (nerd superstar #1) for all your support today. Also thanks to Barbara (Kirsten's Mom) and Susan (My Mom) for contributing venture capital to this endeavor.
love, Canyon
